What's New
Carv now makes improving more personal, more social - and way more fun
This year, we had a mission: take all the amazing data in your Carv and create a truly powerful coaching platform. A coach that adapts to your goals and builds you a pathway to get there. Improvement made simple, breakthroughs made inevitable.
We can't wait to see you on the slopes!

What's new
New Personalized Pathways
Moguls, Carving, Parallel, Powder... you choose how you want to ski, and Carv will get you there.
Carv with Friends
Skiing isn’t a solo sport - and Carv shouldn’t be either. Now you can track and celebrate your friends.
Fewer taps, more laps
We wanted to create a simpler interface, easier controls, and remove anything that stops you from skiing.
PATHWAYS
This winter, you lead the way
Want to build control with parallel turns, carve like a racer, or flow through bumps? Whatever the conditions, whatever your goal, there's always something to chase after.

PATHWAYS
Your next step, made simpler
Technique can feel overwhelming, so Carv breaks it down into simple, essential skills on your pathway. Just follow your next step, learn what to do next, and feel the buzz as you level up.

PATHWAYS
With more content for every level
We've expanded the coaching content for every pathway with videos and tips that show you how to improve your scores and your skiing.

Notes from the team
This year, we wanted to build a system that doesn’t just measure your skiing and suggest metrics to improve. We wanted a system to coach the full-body movements needed to change your skiing, in every aspect of the sport.
Ski:IQ is tuned by terrain
This summer in Chile we refined the Ski:IQ model for each terrain, making coaching more nuanced. Powder and mogul detection is now 30% more accurate thanks to a rebuilt dataset from last season’s runs.
More content
We’ve invested in creating more content for each pathway to help you understand each skill and discover the new movement. The content is designed to be easy to digest and to coach the whole body movements required to improve.
More parallel coaching
Carv had plenty to work on for experts, but we wanted to invest in parallel this year - with a specific parallel pathway and content for progressing skiers, not just experts.
Friends
The only thing better than perfect turns? Making them together.

FRIENDS
Track each other on the mountain
You can now add friends in Carv. You’ll automatically see each other on the map, compare your scores over the season, and cheer each other on.
Fewer taps.
More laps.
We wanted to make the experience cleaner, with the essentials front and center so you can focus on the mountain.
FEWER TAPS
Don't stop. Just ski.
If you skied with Carv last year, you may have tried to maximise your scores by stopping after 8 turns to “lock in your run”. No longer! Now Carv automatically selects your top 8 consecutive turns from any run. Finally a teacher that helps you cheat.
FEWER TAPS
Here when you need it. Away when you don’t.
The new heads-up display is a powerful new tool to give you access to everything you need to track your day, see your friends, and improve - all without pulling you out of the moment.

The new Carv app is currently in production and testing. We'll be releasing this in the first week of November.
To get it, you don't have to do anything — it's free. Simply update your app (automatically or manually via the app store) and you'll see the new updates ready for the season.
No — you do not. We always make our software backwards compatible, so any Carv sensor can operate with the new software.
Yes, all Carv users operate on the same app ecosystem. All updates are included in your membership - you just need to ensure your app is on the latest version when you next go skiing.
They’re still there, but now they feed into your skill coaching. You’ll get the same detailed data, with clearer direction on how to improve.
Ski:IQ is still your benchmark, but it’s now tuned to your chosen pathway (Carving, Parallel, Moguls, Powder, etc) for more relevant feedback.
Each model is tuned differently for the terrain so it will help you adapt your technique to more accurate skiing benchmarks.
Yes — all of your previous Ski:IQ scores and sessions are saved, so you can track your progress season after season.
