Yes, all Carv users operate on the same app ecosystem regardless of what hardware version you have. We are always keen to provide backwards compatibility of all app updates as part of your membership. App updates are automatic through the app store.
Yes — all of your previous Ski:IQ scores and sessions are saved, so you can track your progress season after season.
Ski:IQ™ is a measurement created by Carv to provide an objective score of your ski technique.
It is based on how you ski in each terrain, and how your ski movement patterns compare to perfect technique.
A beginner skier will score 70, an intermediate 100-120, advanced 120-140 an expert scoring 140-160.
Carv tracks your Ski:IQ™ over time so you know when you're improving.

No. Carv works for progressing parallel skiers through to advanced and expert skiers, with coaching tailored to your level.
Carv analyses what terrain you're skiing, your turns and highlights the one or two things that will make the biggest difference to your skiing.
It does this by comparing the movement of your skis and model of skiing based on 1 billion ski turns across every level.
Over the season you'll see where you're at on the skill pathway and get tips as you ski to improve.
No. Carv is designed to either work with audio coaching in your headphones, or you you can review your feedback on the lift or at the end of the run. We have designed it so you can ski with your phone away, track every run and get instant feedback throughout your day if you want.
